Um ranking da revista norte-americana ‘Rolling Stone’ destaca as 100 melhores músicas dos Beatles. ‘A day in the life’ do álbum clássico "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band", de 1967 ocupa o topo da lista.

Em segundo lugar, ficou "I want to hold your hand", de 1963, seguido por "Strawberry fields forever", incluída na trilha sonora do filme "Magical mistery tour", também de 1967.

O ranking faz parte de uma edição especial de colecionador entitulada ‘The Beatles: 100 Greatest Songs’, lançada para coincidir com o aniversário de 40 anos de ‘Let it be’, de 1970.
